1. John NESBIT III. b. 29 April 1778 in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. d. 30 August 1835 in Marion County, Indiana. He married Mary McCLURE, 21 March 1802; daughter of James McCLURE & Margaret POLLOCK. Mary was born 21 March 1783 in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. She died 26 August 1836, in Marion County, Indiana;

i. Elizabeth Easter b. d. 1858 She married John Pollock "Pogue" MOORE, 3 September 1839; son of James MOORE & Margaret "Peggy" McCLURE, in Bourbon County, Kentucky. He was born 1 October 1810 in Bourbon County, Kentucky. He died August 1875 in Marion County, Indiana ;
ii. John McClure b. 17 November 1807, Kentucky. d. in Marion County, Indiana. He married Sarah "Sally" STEELE, 28 July 1830 She was b. 17 March 1810 in Kentucky.
iii. Margaret Moved to Marion County, Indiana with father in 1830. She married Daniel Rictor SMITH.
iv. Nancy Torrence She married Ambrose Gore RUDDELL.
v. Maria Jane b. October 1815. She died 1897, in Marion County, Indiana; She married Henry Bloomfield EVANS, 9 May 1839, in Marion County, Indiana. He was b. 19 July 1817 in Burlington County, New Jersey, died April 1847 in Marion County, Indiana;

John and Mary lived on a farm four miles from Millersburg, Bourbon Co., KY attending Stonermouth Presbyterian Church near Ruddells Mill. Thence, in 1828 or 1829, accompanied by his slave Mike he came to the quarter-section farm in Washington Township, Marion Co, IN, which was long the residence of his daughter, Maria Jane Nesbitt Evans and the north half which is now owned by her daughter Mary Allen Evans Woollen. Having erected a long shelter on this farm and having returned to Kentucky for his family he moved thence in 1830 to the Marion Co., IN farm accompanied by his mother, his wife and all their children except John McClure Nesbitt who, with his wife, Sarah Steele stayed and died in KY. The children who accompanied their father to Indiana were Margaret, Nancy Torrence, James, Marie Jane, Elizabeth Esther, William Alexander, Joan, and Joseph Allen.

ii. Mary W. b. 10 May 1827 On she married Louis C. VIMONT, 21 November 1844: son of Louis VIMONT Sr. & Rosanna ROWLAND. He was born 2 May 1823.
